Several years ago I met a native of Buenos Aires, Argentina
and he deserves the credit for inspiring me to create LaMorocha™
International Cookie
Company.First, he gave me the nickname Morocha, which means black haired woman in Spanish. "LaMorocha" is a famous Tango song that I like to dance to from the 1920's.
Second, Alfajores, dulce de leche is his favorite dessert. It is very well known in Argentina and South America. It is the equivalent to the Chocolate Chip cookie in the United States. The recipe was passed from his family to mine.
My name is Vittoria, as a child I always loved to bake and eat sweets, especially cookies and pies. For many years I assisted my Great Grandmother with baking desserts. My Grandfather shortly after his arrival from Italy, became a professional baker in N.Y. Today, I would like carry on the tradition by sharing the home baked Alfajores cookies with you.
